Your Personal Hour – Taking Time For Yourself

Thanks so much for coming back to my blog! If you haven't done so yet, please sign up for my newsletters to receive updates and valuable information.
AHHHHH, I LOVE THE HOLIDAYS! For me, it starts with Halloween and ends on New Year’s Day. I love seeing all the holiday decorations, listening to the music and enjoying the positive energy that flows throughout the season. At the same time, the holidays can be a time of stress for many people, which is why it is so important to take a few moments each day to dedicate to your own personal needs–be it reading a book, meditating, doing yoga, pilates, etc…anything that you feel would benefit you, nourish you, rejuvenate you.
Taking those precious moments to devote to something that gives you joy is a wonderful gift you could ever give to yourself–not just during the holiday season, but all year long! You will feel more at ease and be able to enjoy this wonderful and celebratory time of year with your friends and family. Thank you so much for stopping by! I’d love to know your thoughts on the subject, so please do leave a comment at the bottom. If you enjoyed what you read, go ahead and share this on Twitter and Facebook.
Below is a musical gift from me to you. You may save it to your computer for future listening enjoyment.

Heather,
I thank you for this special message.
I am actually in New York City visiting family/friends. I took this time to do a personal reflection on my life. These are the questions I asked myself as I find myself journaling:
* What have I been going through?
* What experiences this year have brought breakthrough in my life?
* What experiences made me happy?
* What do I need to improve?
I’m also doing a little Goal-Setting because life is so fast-paced up to this point that i needed to get a way from my life in California just for a bit. I have been having a GREAT time reflecting on the past year and planning on my 2010 as well. In the midst of goal-setting I am also committed to the 3′S
1.) Stillness
2.) Silence
3.) Solitude
I find when I am meditating for long period of time my life becomes more balanced and harmony.
I thank You for your special gift. I ENJOYED IT
i WISH YOU all the HAPPINESS, LOVE, PEACE this HOLIDAY SEASON!!!
Have the best time with your husband and daughter. I look forward to our friendship!
Love Light & Blessings to You

Hi Heather!
Thanks for your message, and I wish you and your family a happy, healthy, and safe holiday as well.
It’s so true that this season often brings tremendous stress to many people. One of the ways I’ve learned over the years to combat this is to stop burdening myself with enormous expectations. Some of the things on my former list of things I had to do have fallen by the wayside. When we realize the real reason for our celebrations, and that what matters most is spending time with our loved ones, it’s easy to let some things go.
And yes, taking time for ourselves is essential. After all, we can’t give away what we don’t have, right?

Hi Heather,
Thanks for reminding everyone how important it is to take care of ourselves while we are in the middle of the season where we most “DO” for everyone else. Enjoy your Christmas with your loved ones and friends.

The music I’ve shared with you all is from the CD “On Christmas Day” by the Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes And Drums. You can learn more about them here: http://www.mcvfifesanddrums.org
I have to admit, it’s a bit of a shameless plug on my part–I am a performing member of that organization. We recorded the CD about 6 years ago…was a ton of work, but so much fun to do. It’s my favorite studio recording we’ve done to-date.
Happy Holidays! *<: -)
Heather,
I always love to hear when others say they
love the holidays. And yes it is a very busy
time of year. Thank you for the reminder to
take a little time out for yourself.
Enjoy the holidays and Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the great Holiday greetings and the reminder to take time for yourself. So many of us get busy and tied up in the hectic shopping and visiting whirlwind that the best time of the year becomes a frustration. Centering and taking care of yourself is the wisest holiday message I’ve heard in years!

Hi Heather, thank you for the holiday wishes, by best to you and your family at this most wonderful of seasons! … and also for your wisdom and sharing of this message. As entrepreneurs and internet marketers, its so easy to get all caught up in all the “everythings” you need to do consistently to stay at the top of your game, it’s SO important to take the time to spend with your family and loved ones and also for a rejuvenation of your own body, mind and spirit! Thanks for musical gift, how is your band doing? Still want yuo to come to Texas sometime and sing some blues with us, girl!! Merry Christmas and Happy (and Properous) New Year to you, Heather!!

Hey Healther…thanks for the message, the reminder and the music. At this busy time of the year it is easy to forget the reasons for things. If you don’t take the time to reconnect and clear your mind it is easy just to rush right though life and forget to live it.
If we don’t have a balance…we get lost in the phrenetic energy of life instead of the live-giving energy truly available to us!
Blessings and Merry Christmas!

Very well said Heather. This is also a very good time to giving ourselves quality time even it is just a few moments. It will definitely recharge us with positive energy.
Thumbs up with this! We need to check ourselves sometimes this improves our selves especially our inner side.
