The Astounding Power of Synergy

I don’t typically get a chance to watch Oprah–my 2 1/2 yo daughter prefers Imagination Movers (sorry Oprah!)–but I did hear about an amazing performance by the Black Eyed Peas that was enhanced by an even MORE AMAZING performance by the audience, and was fortunate to have been led to the following video on YouTube:
This is a perfect example of what can happen when we work together in synchronized harmony. It really is astounding how a large group of people can set aside whatever differences they may have with one another and co-exist–even if it is just for a 4-minute bit on TV.
According to Encarta, the definition of Synergy is:
“(The) combined effort being greater than parts: the working together of two or more people, organizations, or things, especially when the result is greater than the sum of their individual effects or capabilities.”
Think about how much good can be done in the world if we could take all that positive energy and work together in a synergistic manner–if people could set aside their own personal ambitions in order to achieve a common goal. Perhaps we could find a cure for cancer, end world hunger and poverty or even end violence among nations.
This may seem too idealistic for some, but if you really think about it–and I mean THINK about it–you’d realize that it CAN BE POSSIBLE. We are already on our way there…it just takes time. It may happen in our lifetime or maybe after we are long gone, but IT WILL HAPPEN.

Thank you Heather. Well, Synergy is the master-principle as Napoleon Hill outlined in his book Think And Grow Rich, he calls it the power of the mastermind (I believe.). There is in my opinion nothing idealistic about it, it’s tapping into the minds and abilities of others. Pars pro toto, a part for the whole. Thanks for the vid as well

Thank you so much for sharing this with us Heather! My educational background was in the Science Of Creative Intelligence at Maharishi University Of Management in Fairfield, Iowa. I basically studied how consciousness manifests as matter and the beneficial effects of Meditation on the individual and society. So I’m quite aware of the fact that our world is changing… there is a transformation in consciousness happening right before our eyes!
Unity and synergy is becoming more and more of a reality, even though augmented chaos can sometimes make us believe different. Obama’s election and this kind of happening on Oprah is a clear representation of this for me, and it really excites me to see people coming together as ONE like that.
I’m all for sharing our knowledge and joining forces, that’s what I enjoy about our blog adventure together.

That was cool. I had not seen that video. That video speaks untold volumes that words could never express.
Stop a moment and imagine the possibilities of that kind of synergy focused on just my country’s (USA) major issues at hand such as wellness care along with health care.

Heather…I absolutely loved this post and video. I showed to my wife, who is the family critic and she said, “Those people in the front had to be staged.” I’ve watched it over and over and I don’t really know but I know one thing…ALL those people weren’t staged.
Even myself, I’m not much of a dancer but when you “feel” it and yes there are times a guy like myself who has no rhythm just feels like getting down. I definitely would’ve been going crazy if I were there.

From what I’ve learned, there were about several hundred people who had practiced the choreography. They were then spread out through the crowd before the song started.
The point is: from several hundred people, several THOUSAND caught on to the energy and did the dance, too!
My question to all of you is: What dance to you want to share with the world?
