Thanks for sharing such great and thorough information on practical steps to becoming an entrepreneur. As with anything in life, anything worth while requires extra time, commitment, and focus. One of the key to elements to being successful as you suggest is a continued investment in education as well as finding a niche that is well researched and that inspires passion within us! Excellent practical advice Heather. Know why you want to be an entrepreneur. Is it to be free? If you can embrace the responsibility that comes with the freedom, than decide what you do best. Here is where it’s important not to chase dollars but to follow passions. You’ll be happiest AND make the most money by doing what you enjoy doing. After this step, it’s homework, homework, homework. Thorough due diligence separates the pretenders from the contenders.

Hi Heather, I always tell start up entrepreneurs that one of the most important things is to stick with it for at least one year. Most give up within 12 months because they don’t get the right training and mentoring to really be clear on what it will take to grow their business. If we can just hang in there through the initial learning curve, then we can get in a rhythmic momentum of growth.. but that rarely happens right away. Thanks for the great tips!
